The small variety Alternanthera reineckii "Mini" has not been available for sale for very long, it is still a real rarity, but is becoming increasingly popular. The mini parrot leaf grows only 5 cm high and is therefore suitable as a red-leaved eye-catcher in the foreground even of nano aquariums.
In combination with light green carpet plants such as Hemianthus or grass plants such as Lilaeopsis, the Mini Parrot Leaf looks beautiful due to its red leaflets and provides for loosening up and a strong color contrast. In order for it to express its colors well and maintain its compact growth, the Mini Parrot Leaf needs very good light and CO2 fertilization. Under weaker light the plant will grow taller.
From time to time the compact stems of Alternanthera reineckii "Mini" should also be pruned to encourage branching. You can stick the shoot tips into the ground, they will soon sprout roots.
This InVitro plant was grown in the laboratory and can therefore be used immediately in the aquarium; it does not contain any unwanted co-inhabitants and did not come into contact with harmful substances.
