ADA - Aqua Conditioner Soft Water

The ADA Aqua Conditioner Soft Water from Aqua Design Amano can be used to soften hard tap water. Many aquarium fish, tropical aquatic plants and ornamental shrimp originally come from biotopes with soft water, and they have a much harder time in hard, alkaline tap water with a pH above 7.5.

Especially if you use active soils like Aqua Soil in the aquarium and aquascape, which adjusts the aquarium water to be soft and slightly acidic, dangerous fluctuations in pH can occur when changing water with harder tap water. Shrimp in particular tolerate these fluctuations very poorly, and they can also cause great stress for ornamental fish. Stress weakens the immune system and can lead to diseases.

It therefore makes sense to adjust the values of the tap water for the water change to the parameters of the aquarium water before adding it. The water conditioner ADA Aqua Conditioner Soft Water helps decisively here, because it lowers the carbonate hardness in the water and thus indirectly also sets the pH value lower.

ADA Aqua Conditioner Soft Water is added directly to the changing water. The attractive 200 ml bottle of this ADA water conditioner is equipped with a practical dosing pump. You can either dose 1 ml of Soft Water per 10 liters of tap water - which corresponds to one pump stroke - or measure the pH value of the tap water with ADA's Pack Checker and then add as much ADA Aqua Conditioner Soft Water until the pH value in the changing water corresponds to that of the aquarium water.

Do not mix with any other water conditioner to avoid interactions. It is best to add ADA Aqua Conditioner Soft Water to fresh water before adding it to the aquarium. Adding ADA Soft Water to the aquarium may cause fluctuations in pH, which can harm fish and invertebrates. At the first sign of problems, please change water immediately!
