Genus: | Anubias |
Anubias barteri var. nana "Bonsai" is a beautiful dark green, very small remaining variant of Anubias barteri var. nana. Like all Anubias, Anubias "Bonsai" is quite hardy and thus even perch resistant. It grows even under low light, although very slowly.
Anubias barteri var. nana "Bonsai" is very nice for the middle ground or even the foreground, its dark leaves contrast great with light green or red stem plants, and it still feels comfortable in the shade of tall plants or decorations. Anubias should never be placed in substrate to prevent its rhizome/rootstock from rotting. To prevent this, pull gently on the leaves after insertion until the thicker rhizome protrudes back above the substrate. However, this plant is tied directly onto a piece of Nanowood, which is really ideal for Anubias "Bonsai". The suction cup attached to it allows you to attach the root piece to the glass, giving shrimp or crabs another "floor" in the aquarium.
Anubias Bonsai can be easily propagated by dividing the rhizome. There should still be at least one or two leaves on it.
The picture serves only as an example, the delivered piece of Nanowood may differ in terms of shape and color.
Our recommendation: For a splendid plant growth we recommend the use of the NatureHolic fertilizer series and for new plants the Premium Nutrient Substrate NatureHolic GroundBooster.
Expert tip: With the NatureHolic plant glue glue this plant gently and easily on stones, roots and decoration . Made in Germany, the adhesive does not pollute the water and has no negative impact on the stock.
