The great coconut cave is great as a hiding place for dwarf shrimp, dwarf crayfish, as well as smaller fish. Ready planted with freshwater kelp (Lomariopsis lineata) and an Anubias Gold, it is immediately ready for use and can be decorated directly in the aquarium. Especially dwarf shrimps like to hide in the green cushions of the kelp, on which useful cleaning bacteria also find a place to settle, which the shrimps nibble down with relish. But also young animals use this as a place of retreat.
With the coconut cave you create a unique eye-catcher in the aquarium, which also serves as a playground for your pets. With its great appearance, especially the Anubias Gold is a great eye-catcher. The Anubias barteri var. "gold" is a perching plant and should therefore not be placed in the substrate. It reproduces via a rhizome, i.e. a rootstock, which is tied or glued on. To propagate it, simply cut off a few inches with two leaves and reattach it to other hard substrate. Freshwater kelp can also be trimmed now and then, the best way to do this is to simply pluck off a few shoots by hand.
Even though both plantlets are rather undemanding in terms of care and their light requirements and do not necessarily need CO2 fertilization, a regular addition of nutrients can definitely boost their growth and color.
