Be it full-grown XXL Echinodorus for a large aquarium or smaller plants such as Javafarn or a Cryptocoryne wendtii for a nano tank to medium-sized aquarium: With our XXL aquatic plants you can immediately set really great accents in an aquascape or Dutch plant aquarium or simply a planted aquarium. Here you can draw from the full and be creative. Every aquascaper licks his fingers for splendidly grown mother plants like our sword plants from the genus Echinodorus. These XXL sword plants and frogspoons, which grow as rosette plants, are suitable for medium-sized (for example the species Echinodorus Dschungelstar no. 2 Little Bear or Echinodorus Red Chameleon) and of course for large aquariums as eye-catchers and solitary plants, such as Barth's sword plant Echinodorus barthii, but also the Argentine frogspoon Echinodorus argentinensis, the Amazon sword plant Echinodorus grisebachii bleherae as well as Red Senna or Ocelot in green. Echinodorus Tornado with its swirly looking leaves is also a great accent plant for large aquariums in the middle ground to background, and you can't go wrong with the XXL Stiff-leaved Frogspoon Echinodorus palaefolius var. latifolius in large tanks either.

Since Echinodorus are actually marsh plants and grow above water in nature, they can also be grown emersed in an appropriately sized wetland terrarium.

As rosette plants, our XXL sword plants do not need much care - old and overgrown leaves are simply removed and the plant then sprouts new ones.

In the middle ground of large and small aqu ariums, the hardscape can be planted with our XXL perching plants: The XXL java fern Microsorum pteropus cuts a fine figure here, and the various spear leaves from the genus Anubias also fit perfectly on root wood, decorative objects and of course on stones. The plants are tied on in the classic manner with nylon thread or - in the case of plants that grow firmly - with cotton thread. Alternatively, simply stick the rootstocks into crevices in the hardscape, or attach the rootstock with some cyanoacrylate-based superglue, which does not release any pollutants in the water. Bolbitis heudelotii, the Congo fern, is also a great perching plant. They all have in common that they should be cultivated on objects and not inserted deep into the substrate. If their fine roots are covered by substrate, nothing happens, but if the thick rootstock, the rhizome, is under the soil, it can rot and the plant dies. Therefore, it is better to put perching plants on the hardscape - the plants stay healthy andthe hardscape gets a very natural and original look.

Especially great: plant a root or an aquarium bonsai tree with perennials in such a way that the appearance of a tree with foliage is created. Here, too, you can achieve a great effect with just a few XXL aquarium plants and you don't have to wait long. For example, this works great with the long strands of the Brazilian Pennywort Hydrocotyle leucocephala, which quickly fills the role of foliage on the tree in an appropriately large setup, or can also pass as a climbing plant in a jungle layout.

With red-leaved XXL aquatic plants such as parrot leaf, tiger lotus and rotala you set classy accents and give the viewer of your aquascapes a great different colored contrasting focal point, with the grass-like long green leaves of XXL giant vallisnerias you design the background atmospherically.

Our XXL aquarium plants leave nothing to be desired, the size makes them so attractive and especially for large show aquariums, which must be ready to the point and which can not first grow in for a long time, these large beautiful plants are the right choice.

For the appropriate all-round supply of your aquarium plants with all important nutrients, we recommend our NatureHolic plant fertilizers.
