The right aquarium filter
So that the water values are correct, a good and suitable filter system is indispensable. There are different types of filters and also sizes (external filter, internal filter, Hamburg mat filter, internal filter, etc.) Depending on the size of the aquarium, it is important to choose the filter in the appropriate size. This then sucks the water, filters it biologically and then releases it again. The more water an aquarium holds, the more powerful/larger the filter should be. Besides the size, the filters also differ in the filter material. From coarse granules to fine filter floss, there are various products for different needs. If you do not want a filter inside the aquarium, you can also use an external filter.
The comfort temperature
Furthermore, the water temperature in the aquarium also plays a decisive role. Each species of fish or crayfish has its own individual needs in terms of water temperature. Thus it is already important with the composition of the aquarium inhabitants that the conditions fit here together. The temperature itself can then be regulated by an aquarium heater and controlled by an aquarium thermometer. A large selection of aquarium heaters and thermometers can be found in this category!
In the right light
Also the lighting conditions must be right. Light tubes in various color intensities and brightnesses make it possible to meet the individual needs of the inhabitants. Ready-made aquarium lighting for nano aquariums can also be found in this area.
Maintenance and care
But it is not only important to use the right technology, it must also be cared for and maintained. So it is always important with tropical aquarium animals to check with the thermometer whether the heater is working properly. And also the illuminants should be replaced once a year by new ones, so that they can donate the suitable light conditions.
But the most important thing is to regularly check and clean the filter. Because if the filter is no longer working properly, this can significantly affect the water values and in the worst case lead to the water "tipping". Here it is important to regularly check whether the water flow rate is correct or whether the filter is clogged. The filter itself should not be cleaned too often. This is because the filter material is the headquarters of the good bacteria that ensure that everything is in order in the aquarium. Therefore, filter cleaning, especially of the filter material, should only be done when there is a perceived loss of flow of 30-40%. The best way to do this is to fill some water from the aquarium into a container and then clean the filter in this container. If the filter material must be renewed once, there are special filter bacteria, which can then be applied to the new material.
The correct technology and also the care and maintenance are enormously important, so that the animals in the aquarium can feel good all around. An aquarium should, if possible, optimally replicate the natural habitat of the animals, the more important then the appropriate technology to achieve this.
