Description

The cultivar Echinodorus x barthii can be used for large aquariums as a central solitary plant, growing 25-50 cm high and 20-30 cm wide. Young leaves are dark red, older dark green. Good color development is obtained with high illumination and sufficient micronutrients in the aquarium. A nutrient-rich substrate and an addition of CO2 promote growth. The plant can cast a lot of shade and therefore needs to be shortened occasionally. Used to be offered under the name "Double red''.
