The Blue/Black Rili shrimp is also known as the Blue Carbon Rili . This dwarf shrimp is another attractively colored, relatively new breeding form of Neocaridina davidi. The animals have a relatively dark blue base coloration in body color, combined with deep blue markings. Each animal is drawn differently and therefore unique! The animals you purchase here are hereditary, which means that the offspring of your Blue Carbon Rili Shrimp will look just as pretty as the parents. The Blue/Black Rili shrimp was bred out of Black Rilis. Females grow up to 3 cm, males usually stay a bit smaller and are also a bit weaker colored.
Originally Neocaridina davidi originates from stagnant and flowing waters in Taiwan. However, due to its adaptability, it has now spread to many areas of South and East Asia. Also in the aquarium the color variant Blue/Black Rili copes very well with different water values.
Also with the food the Blue/Black Rili or Blue Carbon Rili is not choosy. As omnivore it takes care of leftovers in the aquarium, but also likes to take vegetable food like dried nettle leaves or spinach, but also special shrimp food. Giving special protein food twice a week has proven to be effective. Brown autumn leaves should always be present in the aquarium with Blue Carbon Rilis.
The Blue/Black Rili can be easily socialized with Blue Velvet shrimp, with Carbon Rili shrimp and with Black Sakura shr imp without any undesirable mixtures. With other shrimps the peaceful group animals also get along well, however, one should make sure that the animals have the same requirements to the water values. A starting stocking of 10 to 20 Blue/Black Rili shrimp has proven successful. The stress is significantly reduced if conspecifics are in sight in the aquarium. If they are small, peaceful and not too curious, Blue Carbon Rilis or Blue/Black Rilis can also be kept with fish in a community tank. They can also be easily socialized with crayfish, freshwater crabs, mussels and snails. Always recommended: mosses and other fine feathery plants that provide cover for the offspring so that they are not eaten.
After three to four weeks of gestation, the female releases 20 to 40 fully developed juvenile shrimp from the eggs, which she carries under her abdomen and eagerly cares for. The young can remain in the parent aquarium for rearing, as they do not chase their offspring.
Our food recommendation: The soft Mainfeed Softpads from NatureHolic are designed for daily feeding. They contain all the nutrients shrimp need for shell development, egg formation and growth. During the production process we pay attention to a gentle and environmentally friendly production, in which the vitamins and other valuable ingredients are preserved as much as possible.
Our plant recommendation: Use for the planting NatureHolic InVitros. These are free of snails, planaria and other unwanted co-inhabitants. Also free of algae spores, bacteria and fungi.
Expert Tip: We recommend for fish keeping the NatureHolic 3 Phase Liquid. The care set offers the best all-round protection for your animals. It ensures optimal conditions for successful breeding and keeping.
