Mineral salts specially developed for shrimp aquariums to harden the water have revolutionized shrimp keeping in recent years. Bee shrimp from South China are found in nature in small, clean flowing waters, in very soft water with a high oxygen content. Above all, it is noticeable that there is no carbonate hardness at all. This can be imitated in the aquarium with tap water only in the fewest regions in Germany - usually the tap water is too hard, the KH is too high, the water contains too much nitrate, copper or chlorine. The beautiful bee shrimp were therefore considered for a long time in aquaristics as extremely difficult to keep and definitely not suitable for beginners in shrimp keeping. It was all over with the Taiwan Bees, which as high-bred shrimps are even more sensitive than bee shrimps. Also Sulawesi shrimp like the cardinal shrimp or the harlequin shrimp from the Malili lake system on Sulawesi / Indonesia were practically impossible to keep in tap water.

In the meantime, the composition of the water in the biotopes of our popular dwarf shrimp has been precisely researched by dedicated researchers, and mineral salts have been developed with which one can produce exactly the water values that the shrimp also find in their natural habitats and to which they have adapted over thousands of years. The products of the Salty Shr imp brand have proven particularly successful in this respect. Salty Shrimp offers not only mineral salts for bee shrimp (the Salty Shrimp GH+), for neocaridina such as red fire shrimp (the Salty Shrimp GH / KH+) and the two Sulawesi shrimp salts (Salty Shrimp Sulawesi Mineral 7.5 and Salty Shrimp Sulawesi Mineral 8.5), but also the appropriate mineral salts for community aquariums with fish.

The application of the Salty Shrimp mineral salts is really quite simple: osmosis water, demineralized water or rainwater filtered with activated carbon, each with a very low mineral content, is hardened with the appropriate mineral salt for the shrimp or fish species to be maintained, according to the package instructions. This is done outside the aquarium.

By adding salt to the water, we elegantly avoid all unpleasant admixtures in the tap water, be it too high water hardness, too much nitrate, the presence of chlorine or silver, copper or lead ... in this way, it is very easy to produce water that is absolutely optimal for the shrimps in the aquarium. This protects against stress and against diseases. The young animals come up better and the shrimps are altogether more vital and healthier.

Furthermore, you can buy in our online store in this category still the useful pollutant binder zeolite for the filter, Easy Carbo, the liquid carbon fertilizer for your plants and Easy Life Potassium for the potassium supply of your aquarium plants.
