from over 3,000 reviews "The right and left closed catfish cave has a large side entrance. It is optimal for L46, L134 and of course for various Ancistrus species such as A. tamboensis or A. temmincki. Of course, the use is not "only" reserved for catfish, the cave can also serve as a hiding place for larger crayfish such as Cherax species from Papua or American Orconectes and Procambarus
The catfish cave with side entrance has carefully hand-rounded edges as well as a very smooth surface. This reduces the danger of injuries decisively. A wall thickness of up to 1 cm makes the cave practically indestructible.
As with all ceramic items, the surface is nevertheless rough enough to allow biofilms to settle, which are very readily grazed by shrimp and also by various loricariid catfish. These biofilms provide a home for various filter bacteria. They take care of water pollution and can thus improve the water quality enormously.
The catfish cave with side entrance can also be planted with moss - so you can hide it visually. To apply the moss, use either a special plant glue or cyanoacrylate-based superglue - or the classic nylon thread.
