The Christmas moss from Indonesia, scientifically called Vesicularia montagnei, is here tied on a root. Over time, it grows firmly by itself and it also continues to grow on the wood. This root looks beautiful especially in the middle ground.
Christmas moss gets its name from its evenly triangular fronds that look like fir branches. It is optimal in the foreground or (as here) on roots or stones to cultivate.
The large beautiful cushions can be easily divided and thus propagated. When cut back, fronds are produced, which can also be tied up again.
For shrimp aquariums, Christmas moss is a particularly beautiful accent that gives everything a very primal touch. But it's also great in an aquascape or in a wet terrarium (without herbivores ...).
