Craywood f. Crayfish, Catfish & Fan Shrimp

With the dark brown Craywood XXL made of high-quality ceramic, which is based on a natural hollow branch, you can also offer larger crayfish such as Procambarus or Cherax a great hiding place, for which they are very grateful, especially during molting. Crayfish are by nature rather secretive and solitary animals that like to go into hiding not only from potential predators, but also from conspecifics. The Craywood cave has multiple exits so that the animals can always avoid each other, which greatly reduces stress.

Catfish also find this cave very inviting, and even fan shrimp like the Blue Monster Fan Shrimp are very happy to accept it. On the rough surface, their strong legs find good support even in strong currents. If fan shrimp are in the aquarium, the Craywood Cave should be placed directly in the current.

Because the Craywood cave is carefully and creatively handcrafted, no two pieces look alike - each cave is unique, and you can ideally combine several Craywood hiding places without making the aquarium look artificial. The shape, which is based on a real branch, looks extremely natural and fits perfectly into a planted, natural aquarium.

Craywood can also be beautifully planted with moss or perennial plants, making it look even more natural.

Craywood caves are made of fired clay and are completely water neutral and do not disintegrate. Thanks to the finely structured surface, bacteria can settle here in high numbers, which break down organic loads in the aquarium and make pollutants harm less, which can increase the water quality.

Of course, the Craywood cave can also be used in an aquaterrarium with slightly larger crabs.
