from over 3,000 reviews "With the Dennerle Nano Shrimp Gravel Sunda white you can create an optimal foundation in your nano aquarium. The correct selection of the same plays a major role in the subsequent stocking. Above all, it serves as a biological filter, because this is where the largest amount of denitrifying bacteria settle, which have a significant influence on the water values.
It is also recommended to use a nutrient substrate under the gravel, which is a long-term fertilizer. This offers especially newly planted plants the possibility to form new and strong roots, so that they can anchor strongly and have less difficulties with the acclimation. A strong plant growth also prevents the formation of algae.
The Sunda shrimp gravel from Dennerle is hardness-free and therefore water-neutral, which means that the water values are not affected. It is also lightfast and CO2 resistant. The rounded grains make it suitable for dwarf armored catfish, which have sensitive barbels, as well as for mussels, dwarf shrimps and other invertebrates.
We recommend this substrate setup:
Fill in approx. 2 cm Dennerle NanoDeponitMix Special Nutrient Substrate or another nutrient substrate and then cover with at least 3 cm Dennerle Nano Shrimp Gravel.
Before first use , the gravel should be washed out several times with cold water to remove abrasion caused by transport.
