Dwarf spear leaf - Anubias barteri var. nana - Tropica plant on lava stone

The dwarf spear leaf Anubias barteri var. nana was professionally tied onto a lava stone. As a perching plant, this Anubias feels most comfortable and thrives magnificently. Anubias barteri var. nana is a very small spear leaf with roundish, dark green leaves on short stems. It grows very slowly. Anubias barteri var. nana also blooms under water.

As a hard-leaved plant, the dwarf spear leaf is considered to be perch resistant. It thrives well under low light and also in shade, but also copes optimally with more light.

Anubias barteri var. nana can be easily propagated by dividing. There should be two or more leaves on each piece of the rootstock.

Please do not plant Anubias in the substrate, but educate it. The rootstock may rot otherwise.
