The unusual Golden Dwarf Spear Leaf Anubias barteri var. nana "Gold" is a cultivated form with beautiful light green to golden foliage. It looks great in combination with dark green varieties of Anubias nana, but also works well on its own. The more light the plant gets, the more its leaves play into golden yellow. In low light areas it tends to turn green.
Thanks to its hard leaves, Anubias barteri var. nana "Gold" will not be touched by most herbivorous fish. As a perching plant it is best cultivated on wood or stones. Here it is already tied up on a piece of root.
The Golden Dwarf Spear Leaf is easy to propagate, simply cut off a piece with at least two leaves on it and reattach it.
Anubias barteri var. nana "Gold" also fits nicely on the land part of a terrarium or paludarium with high humidity.
