The dwarf needle lime from Australia and New Zealand is scientifically called Eleocharis pusilla. Now and then you also hear the name Eleocharis parvula. This green grass plant, which remains quite low with a maximum growth height of 5 cm, is a great ground cover and is also suitable for nano aquariums.
Plants grown in vitro sit in a nutrient gel that can be removed without residue by brief soaking (about 1 hour) and careful rinsing. The portion of Dwarf Needlewort from the InVitro cup can then be broken down into many individual plants. They are ideally placed in the substrate with tweezers. Leave some space between the plants.
Eleocharis pusilla forms runners, so the gaps close quickly and the carpet becomes dense and green. To propagate, simply separate a piece of runner with daughter plants and replant it.
