Earlier in the Holland aquarium decoration has played virtually no role. Japanese aquascaper and photographer Takashi Amano has made naturally designed aquariums respectable. He uses a lot of hardscape in his natural aquariums, and has made the addition of mosses and the use of perching plants like anubias and java fern very popular. Today, you can even find the odd root in shrimp breeding tanks, some even with moss cushions tied on top or with a small java fern.

The mosses and perching plants, which are ideally cultivated on roots and rocks and which you can buy here in the online store at Garnelio already tied up, are not only beautiful to look at, they also offer an important additional benefit in the shrimp aquarium. In their large surface food particles are caught and rich biofilms can settle, which on the one hand are a popular snack for the shrimps, in which on the other hand also the important filter bacteria find a home, which decompose organic pollutants, nitrite and nitrate from the water. In the subcategory " Mosses " you will find not only ready-made mosses and perching plants such as Javafarn (Microsorum pteropus) on root wood and also on coconut half shells suitable as a hiding place for small crayfish and dwarf shrimps, but also shrimp trees and aquarium bonsais to create yourself.

The selection of roots for the aquarium is huge. There are fine Spiderwood pieces, native branches from nature such as pear branches, red bog roots and also somewhat coarser structured such as mangrove roots, bog pine wood and Mopani in various sizes. Some of the root pieces are also equipped with a suction cup, which can be used to attach them to the glass of the shrimp aquarium or crab tank. Thus, one offers the animals an additional floor in the aquarium, which is gratefully accepted.

Terrascaping is taking up more and more space in the terrarium hobby. Beautifully designed terrariums and aquaterrariums are becoming more and more important, and so it is no wonder that here, too, attention is focused on beautiful hardscape. In addition to tubes and plates made of cork for terrarium design, here in the online store you can also buy beautiful root pieces and branches that are suitable for terraristics. Especially invertebrates in the terrarium (for example, crabs and land hermit crabs) are incredibly fond of climbing and are happy about any playground.
