Neither shrimp babies nor fish larvae can get through here, and also snails can no longer be sucked in, which is often a death sentence for them. The fine pores of the sponge additionally increase the filter volume. - Garnelio

Description

A suction protection for the external filter or backpack filter is indispensable in the shrimp aquarium. The little ones love to crawl into the filter to feast on the filter mulch. Unfortunately, such an excursion often ends fatally for them if they get too close to the filter wheel. This suction protection made of filter sponge is simply pulled over the slots of the water intake and thus reliably prevents the entry of shrimp babies, fish larvae or even the suction of snails. Make absolutely sure that the slots are completely covered!

In addition to the protective effect, the Filter Guard acts as a pre-filter. It catches small and also larger suspended particles, plant debris and the like and prevents them from entering the filter basket. This increases the service life of your external filter or backpack filter enormously and reduces the cleaning effort. The filter guard is much easier to clean than the filter media of the external filter - simply pull it off, rinse it with clear water, put it back on, and you're done.

The fine pores of the sponge act as an additional filter. Useful bacteria can settle here as well, and the filter area increases enormously. Especially for backpack filters with a correspondingly small filter area, this can provide additional safety and play an important role in the breakdown of pollutants in the aquarium.

Question: "Hallo liebes Garnelio-Team, durch die Bestellungen haben sich inzwischen einige Styroporbehälter (2 verschiedene Größen, alle komplett unbeschädigt und sauber) angesammelt. Ich wollte sie nicht einfach wegwerfen, benötige aber nicht alle. Meine FRAGE: kann ich die Sytyroporbehälter dem Fahrer (zert. Tierversand) bei meiner nächsten Lieferung mitgeben, damit er sie zurückbringt? Insgesamt 5 Stück. Wäre sicher ein kleiner Beitrag zu Umweltschutz, ist ja ein heute großes Thema:). Question: "Hallo erstmal :-) Passt der Ansaugschutz auch für den EHEIM professionel 4+ 250T ? Ich habe die Eheim Ablaufgarnitur mit dem Korb unten dran und habe bisher immer selbst einen Schwamm drum gebastelt. Scheinbar setzt der sich sehr schnell mit Algen etc. zu, so dass der Filter nicht mehr richtig zieht. Einen Edelstahlkorb hatte ich auch mal, allerdings ist hier zum Reinigen immer der obere Gummiring abgegangen und war nicht mehr zu montieren. Von daher war das erstmal nicht so gut zu gebrauchen. Hallo Claudia, vielen Dank für deine Frage! Misst du den Durchmesser deines Einlaufs, weißt du welche Filter Guard du brauchst. In der Regel sollten es 16mm sein.
