Note: If you keep different color forms of Neocaridina davidi together, you must assume that they may mix over time. This is usually how new color varieties develop. With interesting new color variations you can then start your own breeding lines again - or simply enjoy the diversity in the mixed aquarium. When giving away offspring, please make sure to inform the buyers that they come from a socialization with other color strokes.

24 shrimps for the somewhat larger nano aquarium, as initial stocking from approx. 30 liters.
Basically all color variants of Neocaridina davidi are relatively undemanding and robust fellows, which are very tolerant to different water values.
They are omnivores and waste recyclers and therefore accept almost any food. Basically, shrimp food specially tailored to their needs is optimal, but they also take care of algae and other micro-fouling, dead plant parts and in the community tank also fish food remains. Twice a week they should be provided with a suitable protein food, otherwise they are very happy with vegetable food. Brown autumn leaves, which can be left in the aquarium, are suitable as permanent food.
As peaceful group animals these colorful crawlers live together without problems. With other shrimp species or color varieties they can of course also be socialized, provided that the animals have similar demands on the water values. Small, not too hectic, peaceful fish are also suitable for socialization as well as crayfish, freshwater crabs, snails and mussels.
Breeding is very easy and takes place without further human intervention. The females carry 20 to 40 eggs on their swimming legs under the abdomen. After three to four weeks, the baby shrimp hatch. They do not go through larval stages and can remain in the aquarium because the adults do not chase the young. If the animals sit together with fish, however, you should offer especially the young shrimp moss cushions or other fine finned plants in which they can hide.
Our food recommendation We recommend the Food package from Natureholic.
Our plant recommendation: For planting, use NatureHolic InVitros. These are free of snails, planarians and other unwanted co-inhabitants. Also free of algae spores, bacteria and fungi.
Expert Tip: We recommend for fish keeping the NatureHolic 3 Phase Liquid. The care set offers the best all-round protection for your animals. It ensures optimal conditions for successful breeding and keeping.
