The Green Pufferfish Tetraodon nigroviridis is actually a brackish water dweller, it does not do well in pure freshwater. The fish are very pretty, they have a green back with irregularly distributed black spots of different sizes, a green belly, a whitish middle stripe and a golden iris. Green pufferfish grow up to 17 cm in size. Males and females do not differ externally.
The breeding of the Green Pufferfish in the aquarium has already been successful. It is absolutely necessary to keep them in light brackish water. Tetraodon nigroviridis is a substrate spawner, brood care is not practiced. Feed the fry with Artemia and small snails like bubble snails.
A minimum 300 liter brackish water aquarium should be purely from the size here already. A sandy bottom is necessary for an animal-friendly keeping, the planting is a bit more difficult due to the fact that this is a brackish water tank. Moss balls are a nice alternative to plants that will hold up well in brackish water for at least some time. Pufferfish like to have a varied decoration of roots and stone structures in their aquarium, which can look very interesting, so you won't even necessarily miss plants. The current should be as low as possible, as the Green Pufferfish does not tolerate a strong current.
The water in the aquarium should be medium hard to hard for Green Pufferfish, the pH should be between 7.5 and 8. The pufferfish feel comfortable at a water temperature of 24 to 28 °C. We recommend light brackish water with a salinity of about 4-8 g/l.
The pretty pufferfish is a very popular snail eater in aquaristics. You can feed it with surplus trumpet snails, post horn snails, bubble sn ails and other snails, but due to its needs it should never be kept in a community aquarium - not only because of the water values, it may also intensively chase and bite other fish. Also, socialization with crayfish or shrimp only works for a short time - the pufferfish will also consider these animals as food and crack them.
Important: Green pufferfish are pure carnivores. They can eat other live and frozen food from time to time, but they are specialized on hard-shelled food and therefore need snails, so that they can wear off their constantly growing beak on the shells. If they do not get this possibility, the beak grows too long and the fish must starve miserably.

Finde aber meine 1500 liter wenn er dann doch so gross wird und so alt zu klein aber mannkann ja anbauen
