The Cuban Pearlwort was discovered only a few years ago in a stream on the island of Cuba. Due to the leaflets measuring only a few millimeters, this Hemianthus is considered the smallest aquarium plant in the world. With regard to water values, the pearlwort is very adaptable; however, very good lighting and a good CO2 supply are important. The emersely grown plants are divided into small pieces and planted in portions. Within a few weeks, this creates a dense carpet in the foreground. An aquarium design together with a stone landscape looks very decorative and natural.
