The Cuba Dwarf Pearlwort (Hemianthus callitrichoides) from Central America, sometimes called simply Dwarf Pearlwort, is the smallest stem plant in the world. With its fresh green color and tiny leaflets, this creeping plant is a popular groundcover for the foreground.
Especially in combination with grass-like plants Hemianthus callitrichoides "Cuba" looks very natural.
We recommend for aquariums with Soil a layer of fine Soil (Powder) over the normal substrate, so that the short roots can get a good foothold. The Cuba Dwarf Pearlwort can also be tied to small flat stones with nylon thread or similar, so it cannot be dug up by digging snails, for example.
Regular pruning is important to keep the Cuba Dwarf Pearlwort short and bushy. The plant can be propagated simply by dividing or by replanting cut shoots.
InVitro plants come from tissue culture and are guaranteed free of algae, pathogens, planaria and snails. Before planting, this Hemianthus callitrichoides "Cuba" should only be carefully freed under running water from the nutrient medium adhering to the roots.
Our recommendation: For magnificent plant growth, we recommend Premium Nutrient Medium when setting up a new plant: NatureHolic GroundBooster
Expert Tip: With the NatureHolic plant glue you stick this plant gently and easily on stones, roots and decoration . Made in Germany, the adhesive does not pollute the water and has no negative impact on the stock.
