Different breeding groups of Caridina shrimp with Orange Eyes (OE), i.e. orange eyes, we also have from Skyfish for you in our program and of course the classics, but in perfection: Blue Bolt breeding groups and King Kongs - classic Taiwang shrimp from Skyfish.
These high breeding Caridina are based on the original forms, the bee shr imp Caridina logemanni with its various pattern variations aka Red Bee and Black Bee Shrimp, the tiger shrimp Caridina mariae, including blue tiger shrimp with OE or black tiger shrimp with OE as well as taiwan shrimp, which are also known as shadow shrimp in the aquaristic hobby. With the newer hybrids like Boa or Galaxy also other shrimp species like Caridina cantonensis play a role: Tangerine Tiger, Spotted Shrimp or Aura Blue from the species group around Caridina serrata. Skillful breeding selection and a good hand for the right combinations characterize Skyfish and have led to its spectacular results and countless successes at shrimp championships and shrimp contests.
The Caridina variants of Skyfish like soft, clean and oxygen-rich water in the aquarium. The pH value should be in the slightly acidic range. Ideally they should be kept in a bee setup, i.e. with active Soil, which buffers the water values and lowers the water hardness, and on osmosis water, which is salinated with a good mineral salt. This should only raise the total hardness, not the carbonate hardness in the aquarium water. The substrate is not piled high. A thin layer of Soil in the aquarium is much easier to keep clean than a thick layer.
Filtration in such an aquarium should be efficient. Breeding tanks tend to be sparsely planted - this allows the aquarist to intervene directly if problems do arise. For highly fertilized plant aquariums, these high-breds are rather not suitable, because they can react sensitively to nitrate in the water. However, the plants urgently need this. Good plants for an aquarium with high breeding shrimps would be various mosses, or also sitters like Javafarn or the beautiful Bucephalandra, which also like the water in the aquarium to be very soft and somewhat acidic.
Then add a small bog root or lava rock to the aquarium, and the animals are happy. Please be really careful not to put a hardening stone in the aquarium, the beautiful high breeding Skyfish shrimp tolerate lime in the water very poorly.
The beautiful Caridina hybrids of Skyfish belong like all dwarf shrimps to the omnivores, but a predominantly vegetable food is very good for them. From Skyfish there are proven shrimp food varieties that have been tested in long term tests and have proven to be very good for this excellent breeder of high quality shrimp.
These shrimps are basically kept in the species tank - for fish company the babies are a bit too bad. The opaque colors and perfect, beautifully detailed patterns make Skyfish shrimp little jewels in the aquarium. The strains are quite reliable in pattern inheritance, but it can happen from time to time that something completely new and interesting appears in the breeding groups - a new pattern, a different color shimmer, a different pattern distribution ... Skyfish shrimp are absolute eye-catchers in the aquarium.
