Leptodyctum riparium - NatureHolic InVitro
The bank moss Leptodictyum riparium is a rather coarse structured moss, which grows rather horizontally. Thereby the somewhat stubby shoots point in all directions. Shore moss is distributed practically all over the world and as a cosmopolitan it is very adaptable. It copes excellently even with hard or nutrient-rich water.
For a moss, Leptodictyum riparium grows relatively fast . Bank moss is usually cultivated on roots in the middle ground, on flat stones or as a loosely lying moss cushion in the foreground. In doing so, it partially grows firmly on the substrate. The more light the moss receives, the more horizontally the low lying shoots grow. In low light, on the other hand, the growth is almost upright.
Shore moss can also be grown beautifully in a wet terrarium on the land part, as well as in a paludarium or waterfall aquarium.
Leptodictyum riparium, as a native species, can of course also be placed in the garden pond, where it cuts a great figure in the transition zone from water to land as well as in the water. It is completely hardy in our area.
The propagation of this great moss is very simple. The moss cushions are either cut back, then you use the shoots that are newly bound on, or you simply divide the moss cushion.
Here you buy the bank moss as an InVitro aquarium plant. It is grown in the laboratory and therefore does not harbor snails or other unwelcome guests such as algae or pathogens. You can put InVitro plants directly into the aquarium without quarantine, even to sensitive shrimps. Only the nutrient substrate should be rinsed off beforehand.
Our recommendation: For magnificent plant growth, we recommend Premium Nutrient Substrate when setting up a new aquarium: NatureHolic GroundBooster
Expert Tip: With the NatureHolic plant glue you stick this plant gently and easily on stones, roots and decoration . Made in Germany, the adhesive does not pollute the water and has no negative impact on the stock.
