The variety 'Little Bear' has been on the market since 1995 and is still one of the most popular red-leaved varieties. In the aquarium, the plant forms a compact rosette with rust to deep dark red color. Older plants reach a growth height of up to 25 cm. As with many Echinodorus cultivars emerse and submerged leaves differ enormously. 'Little Bear' is vigorously green in greenhouse culture and sprouts its first red submerged leaves after only a few days in the aquarium. Always a fascinating spectacle!
