This stem plant originating from Cuba is rather inconspicuous in the emersed stage with its simple green leaves. After some time of acclimation under water, the strongly pinnate and splendidly colored underwater leaves gradually appear. Proserpinaca does not grow very fast and is recommended for nano cubes. Its stems branch very little, so head cuttings should be put back in the same place. The lower part of the stem, which is no longer so beautiful, is removed.
