This root is planted with a java fern (Microsorum pteropus) and a caladium-leaved spear leaf (Anubias barteri var. caladiifolia) . Both plants are epiphytic and look ideal in the middle ground tied up on wood or stone decorations.
In nature both Javafarn and Anubias grow in the shade of tall trees, they can also be successfully cultivated in the aquarium with little light.
Please keep these plants tied up, the rhizomes may rot if placed in the substrate.
Anubias barteri var. caladiifolia, like Microsorum pteropus, can be cultivated very well out of water, humidity should be high. Ideally, the emerse culture works in humid terrariums or paludariums.
If you want to propagate Caladium-leaved Anubias or Javafarn, you simply cut off a piece of the rootstock with at least 2 leaves attached. Tie it on, done.
