Shrimp, crayfish, snails, aquatic plants and, of course, fish need reasonably uniform temperatures during transport. If it is too cold, the animals and aquarium plants can be damaged, if it is too warm, this can also be fatal. Therefore, when shipping - even with special transport such as animal shipping or Express Overnight - you must ensure that the temperatures are maintained and that the animals and plants can neither freeze nor overheat.

This can be done optimally with a shipping box made of styrofoam, which you can of course also buy in different sizes here in our online store. The thick-walled styrofoam of the transport box not only reliably protects against shocks and impacts, it also insulates the temperature excellently.

The weather forecast not only of the place where the animals are to be shipped, but also the weather forecast of the destination should definitely be checked before shipping. If the temperatures become extreme, the helpful shipping box made of Styrofoam may not be enough on its own. In that case, if it gets too cold, you'll need a heat pack, which gives off heat for about 40 hours through a chemical reaction.

If the temperature is too low (-5 °C), only express shipping should be used, then a heat source must definitely be added to the Styrofoam box! Attention - please insulate the packages with the plants or shrimps, crabs, snails, crabs or aquarium fish very well against the heatpack. There have been cases of dead, overheated animals when not shipped properly, so thick insulation must definitely be included in the box here. A simple newspaper wrapped around the bags is not sufficient.

If the heat is too high (30 °C), a cooling pad or a bottle with ice water should be placed in the Styrofoam box. Above 30 °C should not be shipped at all.

The thick walls of our square and rectangular cut styro boxes protect against shocks and impacts and against too high or too low temperatures.

Unfortunately, with some carriers, such as DHL, shipping in the styrobox is more expensive as a non-standard recognized packaging. You can get around this problem by simply packing the Styrobox in an additional outer carton. Then only the regular postage is due.
