With the Nano Lava Stones you significantly support the aquarium climate. When it comes to decomposing pollutants, these tiny and invisible helpers in the aquarium are hard to beat: we're talking about the countless tiny microorganisms that settle primarily on porous surfaces and effectively improve the water quality. But they can also be found in the substrate and on the surfaces of equipment and decorations. They form a dense biofilm, which dwarf shrimps in particular tirelessly graze.

The Nano Lava Stones form an extended surface in the aquarium, as they are extremely porous and rough. Here the good cleaning bacteria can multiply extremely actively. Our lava stones are a pure untreated natural product that does not add any substances to the water or even harden it. Before first use, however, the Nano Lava Stones should be rinsed to remove abrasion caused by transport.

Nano Lava Stones can be used in a variety of ways, although they also cut a fine figure as purely decorative objects in the aquarium. They are excellent for tying up small perching plants such as offshoots of Anubias, Bucephalandra or Java fernsbut also for Mosses. Whether glued or tied on decides here individually. On the lava stone your treasures simply continue to grow.

For their use in the filter, they should best be packed in a filter media bag, as we carry it in the store. Insert this at the last filter stage so that the lava stones are not clogged with coarse dirt. From time to time you can also clean them and rinse them with clear water. Since quite a few good bacteria are lost in the process, you should then use a bacteria preparation such as our Crusta Bacter Liquid product.
