Next to beech leaves and oak leaves, oak leaves are probably the longest known in the hobby and were already used in aquariums when people did not yet know about the benefits of sea almond tree leaves. Our Nano Oak Leaves are young, brown leaves of the oak tree, which are carefully collected by hand from selected locations in the Black Forest, far away from industry and pollutants.

The carefully collected and then gently air-dried autumn leaves of the oak are particularly rich in natural humic and tannins, which have been proven to have a positive influence on the health and well-being of our beloved little crawlers. Depending on the amount of leaves, oak leaves can also have a slightly acid ifying effect, stabilizing the pH to a desired, slightly acidic environment.

Nano oak leaves sometimes float up in the aquarium at first, this can be prevented by weighing down the leaves with suitable aids, such as clay tubes or similar, or by briefly scalding them with hot water beforehand. The over-scalding softens the leaves slightly , making them more readily available to shrimp and others. Besides, the over-brewing of the nano oak leaves has a slightly antibacterial effect.

A slight coloration of the water due to the leaves is natural and completely harmless. The leaves can also be used for wood-eating fish species such as loricariid catfish.

Usage:
2 - 4 leaves per 15-25 liters of tank volume. The initially floating leaves sink to the bottom after a few days, where they can be left until completely decomposed. Leaves that have not decomposed can be removed after a few days.
