In filter technology, filter mats are hard to imagine without and extremely effective, as they filter coarse and fine dirt out of the water depending on the pore density. The porous surface also provides the perfect substrate for the colonization of beneficial microorganisms, which contribute to the breakdown of pollutants in the aquarium. This improves the water quality and the water becomes sparkling clear again.

We recommend regular replacement of filter media to keep the filter working properly and to maintain good water quality. However, never replace all the filter mats at the same time, but at intervals so that not too many of the purifying bacteria are lost. With a bacteria preparation, such as the NatureHolic Bacter Liquid can be used to replace them.
