Description
Alternanthera reineckii 'Pink' is originally from South America. The pink-leaved parrot leaf forms beautiful contrasts to green plants with its pink to purple colored leaf underside. The upper side is brown-red. It is suitable for the middle ground to background of the aquarium.
Intense light promotes the red coloration of the leaves and makes the plant grow compact. In less intense light, it shows increased greenish hues.
Propagation of Alternanthera reineckii "Pink" is simple: plant a side shoot or a shoot tip as a cutting in the soil. Soon it will take root and live on as an independent plant.
Regular pruning ensures that the pink-leaved parrot leaf grows nice and bushy.
