Platy bluemetallic Tuxedo - Xiphophorus maculatus
The bluish shimmering bluemetallic Tuxedo sparkles a bit, depending on how it stands in the light. This makes it look particularly elegant, especially if you keep several of it, because it doesn't like to be alone and can take care of itself quickly. If you keep him together with other colors, it can happen that then new patterns arise, because platies reproduce regularly. Between water plants the young ones stay in order not to be eaten, therefore it is worth to green the edges and the background, so that he still has enough area to swim out. You can also create a pleasant atmosphere and structure with stones and roots. In a community aquarium you can keep the great Platy with other livebearers, but also tetras or danios. It also gets along well with shrimps, but it can happen that it eats a young one. Crayfish are not suitable for his tank. The Platy is uncomplicated and easy to care for and eats all types of food offered to it well, but make sure that it is varied. Dry food or live and forest food he accepts gladly.
Our food recommendation: The fragrant NatureHolic Nanofeed has been tailored to the needs of guppies and other viviparous fish in the aquarium. In addition to high-quality animal ingredients, it also contains vegetable components that benefit guppies & co. The soft granules protect the sensitive mouth of livebearers from injuries caused by hard food grains and provide the fish with a natural feeding experience.
Our plant recommendation: Use for planting NatureHolic InVitros. These are free of snails, planarians and other unwanted co-inhabitants. Also free of algae spores, bacteria and fungi.
Expert Tip: When keeping invertebrates we recommend the NatureHolic 3 Phase Liquid. The care set offers the best all-round protection for your animals. It ensures optimal conditions for successful breeding and keeping.
