from over 3,000 reviews "From India comes the beautiful stem plant Pogostemon erectus with its very fine light green leaf needles. The Indian star plant grows only about 40 cm high, making it well suited for the middle ground of larger aquariums and for the background of smaller ones.
Pogostemon erectus is relatively easy to keep, provided there is sufficient light and CO2. The color looks especially nice when contrasted with light brown or red plants.
A strong pruning is very well tolerated - afterwards the Indian star plant sprouts again beautifully and forms many side shoots. This will quickly give you a nice compact growing bush.
If you want to propagate Pogostemon erectus, simply put the cut side shoots into the substrate and let them root there.
This Indian star plant comes from in vitro culture and is therefore absolutely free of pathogens, algae, snails and parasites. It can be used immediately in the aquarium without further ado, all you have to do is rinse the nutrient gel off the roots.
