Pre filter wadding - white/coarse - 100-500g

The water quality plays the most important role in the aquarium. First and foremost, the waste products of biological products such as fish excrement, but also rotting plant parts or food residues have an influence on it. Therefore, the aquarium filter should be equipped with appropriate media to remove these specifically and to ensure a consistently good water. Our pre-filter wadding is made of synthetic fibers and can be used without hesitation in the aquarium to permanently counteract a drop in your good water values.

Choose from these quantities: 100g, 250g, 500g

Place the coarse pre-filter wadding behind the coarsest filter media holding up the coarse filter in the filter to efficiently retain the smallest particles from the water. When doing this, be sure to place the wadding only loosely so that the filtering effect occurs: water will seek the path of least resistance and will otherwise pass by it if the wadding is stuffed.

If the passage of water decreases noticeably, the wadding should be replaced. Be sure to replace filter media in order and not all at the same time. In any case, replace them with new material, since washed-out filter wadding becomes compacted and thus no longer shows any filtering effect. At the same time, apply a bacteria preparation such as our Crusta Bacter to replace the bacteria lost through the change.

Tip: The filter floss can be easily torn by hand and is also suitable for cleaning aquarium glass, decorations or aquarium tools!
