Sulawesi Mineral 8.5

was developed after scientific analysis of the lakes of the Maliliseen system on Sulawesi and serves for the hardening of osmosis water, rain water, fully desalinated water etc.. It dissolves in the water only with a little effort, but it achieves an almost identical water composition as found in Lake Towuti, with a correspondingly high pH value of approx. 8.5, which reduces the germ load.

Sulawesi Mineral 8,5 contains all important minerals and trace elements for health, well-being and colorfulness of the well-known shrimp species from this region. It promotes microbial regeneration in organic filter substrates. It also reduces the risk from dangerous germs by particularly promoting antagonistic (counteracting) microflora. Increases carbonate hardness and total hardness in the ratio KH/GH = 0.78/1.0.

Since there are still difficulties in breeding the very sensitive shrimps from Lake Towuti (e.g. the harlequin shrimp - Caridina woltereckae or red stripe shrimp - Caridina striata), we last made a trip to the lakes in 2011, after 2008, to examine the more exact living conditions on site and to have water samples analyzed. The results of the water analyses showed fundamental differences in the water chemistry of the lakes of the Malili system compared to generally known lake water types, so that we had to completely recompose the constellation of minerals here; this resulted in Sulawesi Mineral 8.5.

The less sensitive Sulawesi shrimps such as the cardinal shrimp (Caridina dennerli) can be kept and bred well with Sulawesi Mineral 7.5 and Sulawesi Mineral 8.5. For the very sensitive shrimp species we hope for better success in the long term with Sulawesi Mineral 8.5, which is almost identical to the water chemistry of Lake Towuti.

Directions for use:Stir Sulawesi Mineral 8,5 into water outside the aquarium. It dissolves with heat (boil water or heat in microwave) or with the addition of CO2 over a few days. After adding CO2, the water must then be aerated with air bubbler for at least 3 hours to expel the CO2 again. The water is then ready for use. A temperature adjustment to the aquarium water is recommended. Undissolved particles should be added to the aquarium. Close can after each use.

Dosage: Harden osmosis water, rainwater, fully desalinated water, etc. with Sulawesi Mineral 8.5 to approx. 7 °dH and conductivity approx. 220 +/- 40 µS (microsiemens), which corresponds to approximately one level measuring spoon (approx. 3 g) per 20 liters of water. Measuring spoon enclosed.
