Seawater Rotifers - Brachionus plicatilis - NatureHolic Live Food

Brachionus plicatilis are seawater rotifers that live in saltwater. They are the perfect initial food for very small fish larvae that cannot yet handle Artemia nauplii.

Here you buy Brachionus as a live food, but you can also use the portion very well as a breeding stock for further breeding. If fed correctly, rotifers are very productive, so your fish larvae will always have a supply of high quality food.

Since Brachionus itself is not very rich, the rotifers should always be enriched before feeding. Nannochloropsis algae are excellent for this purpose, for example, but also various products from the company INVE (Selco) and many more.

For feeding the rotifers we recommend a sieve with a mesh size of 50 µm, because the culture medium of the Brachionus not only contains salt, but can also be organically contaminated and therefore does not belong in a rearing tank with fish larvae.

If you want to feed the Brachionus immediately, please store the bags in the refrigerator. For further culture, prepare salt water adapted to the density in the sachet and put it into a container with a capacity of about 20 liters.
