Shirakura Red Bee Sand, 4 kg (approx. 4 liters)

The Shirakura Red Bee Sand is an innovative substrate, which is especially suitable for keeping dwarf shrimps of the genus Caridina. It was developed especially for the breeding of bee shr imps and was constantly improved by Takayuki Shirakura in cooperation with the manufacturer in several trials. Friends for years, they have made it their mission to achieve the best possible result for keeping and breeding bee shrimp.

This substrate, produced in a special process from various baked earths, has the property of permanently lowering the water values important for breeding, such as carbonate hardness (KH) and the pH value. For breeding, a carbonate hardness (KH) of 0-2 is aimed for, and to avoid ammonia, a pH value of less than 7. If the measured total hardness (GH) at these values is less than 5, one should use Liquid Mineral Ca+ to raise it a little bit, otherwise it can lead to moulting problems.

Shirakura Red Bee Sand contains no fertilizer additives and is therefore absolutely safe for shrimps. Its highly porous structure provides a very large surface area and thus habitat for the settlement of important microorganisms, which are particularly Baby shrimp for their development. Especially when using bottom filters, Red Bee Sand thus also offers optimal conditions for biological cleaning and thus for the best water quality.

Note:
The substrate should not be washed out before use, it can be immediately introduced into the aquarium. Of course, the Red Bee Sand is super suitable for all dwarf shr imp and not only for Red Bee shrimp.
