Shrimp Mountain Shire consists of three superimposed clay caves embedded in a grassy mound of Aegagropila linnaei. The short filaments of the green alga Aegagropila linnaei also form the well-known and popular algae balls seen in many invertebrate aquariums. Here you get real Shire flair for your aquarium, the shrimp mountain looks like a hobbit might soon hatch out of one of the caves. This natural flair fits perfectly into planted aquariums.
On the relatively porous surface of the clay caves and in the short threads of the Aegagropila, filter bacteria can settle wonderfully and thus ensure good water quality. Shrimp babies also find hiding places and food in the structures of the green algae. For the larger animals the three caves offer protection, not only shrimps, but especially dwarf crayfish like these beautiful hiding places.
The shrimp mountain Auenland is made of high-quality clay elaborately by hand in Germany.
