Our clay shrimp tent is optionally covered with Aegagrophila linnaei (known from the popular moss balls), Riccia (pond liverwort), flame moss, Java moss or Christmas m oss. This overlay not only looks very natural, but also provides a huge surface area for nitrifying bacteria and gives shrimp and crayfish good grazing grounds. Furthermore, the short threads provide great hiding places for baby shrimp. Larger shrimp and small crayfish find a good hiding place one floor below in the shrimp tent, which is especially popular with pregnant females or after a molt.
The products from our Aquarien Art Nano Line are elaborately handcrafted from selected natural raw materials of high quality. On the porous surface of the baked clay, which is stable in water, biofilms of ammonium and nitrite-degrading bacteria, among others, quickly form.
