The home of the flame moss is in Southeast Asia. It is known that it belongs to the genus Taxiphyllum, but it has not yet been determined to species and is therefore listed as Taxiphyllum sp.
The slightly spiraling, but upright growing, sparsely branched shoots make it look like lambent flames of fire. Ideally, this effect is shown to advantage when the moss is tied to thinner horizontal branches or allowed to grow on the ground.
Flame moss should be pruned as little as possible to prevent the shoots from branching, in which case the flame effect would be lost. The pads can be easily divided to propagate the moss.
Flame moss forms adhesive roots and then continues to grow along the substrate.
Also emersed in a humid terrarium the flame moss can be cultivated wonderfully, but there it loses its tight upright growth form.
This lab-grown Flame Moss is guaranteed to be free of algae and also contains no unwanted co-inhabitants, it is free of pesticides and other pollutants . Simply rinse off the gel and add the moss directly to the aquarium without quarantine.
Expert Tip: With the NatureHolic plant glue stick this plant gently and easily on stones, roots and decoration . Made in Germany, the adhesive does not pollute the water and has no negative impact on the stock.
