Tubifex or stream tub eworms are suitable for small to large fish, but also for shrimp, dwarf crayfish, young crayfish and adult crayfish that need protein from time to time. Crabs also like to eat the reddish worms.

Tubifex belong to the group of little borsters. They contain only little dietary fiber, but in proportion somewhat more protein and fat, so they should not be fed every day. Variety is also important with natural food!

If you want to feed the Tubifex worms very soon, you can store them in the bag in the refrigerator. Larger quantities that are to be fed gradually are better off in larger containers with loose-fitting lids, also in the refrigerator. Dead worms should be removed consistently.

Breeding in a small aquarium with coarse gravel is possible. Tubifex eat mainly mulm and decaying autumn leaves.
