from over 3,000 reviews "Tylomelania Yellow Antenna is a species of Tylomelania from Sulawesi that has not yet been scientifically identified. It is also called Tylomelania sp. "yellow antenna". The beautiful snail with its dark, strongly sculpted shell fits in almost every aquarium as a great eye-catcher. While the shell, which grows up to 6 cm long, is almost black, the Tylomelania Yellow Antenna has a black body with many tiny cream to yellow spots. Its antennae are bright yellow. Many shells of the Tylomelania Yellow Antenna show whitish discoloration in the upper third, a sign of natural wear. They do not harm the snail.
The Tylomelania Yellow Antenna is separately sexual, however, one cannot tell the males and females apart by external characteristics. If you want to breed the Tylomelania Yellow Antenna, you should therefore keep a larger group of at least 5 Yellow Antenna Tylomelania in the aquarium, so that both sexes are certainly present. The females release live young that develop in their brood pouch. A single juvenile snail is born every few weeks. The young grow up easily in fresh water and can stay with the parents in the aquarium. They do not need any special care as long as they find enough growth.
The Tylomelania Yellow Antenna is a very peaceful, active snail when it is comfortable. It can be socialized with dwarf shrimp and peaceful small to medium sized ornamental fish in the aquarium without any problems. Not to snail eaters such as predatory snails, crabs or shrimp!
The Tylomelania Yellow Antenna is an omnivore and likes to eat biofilms and algae growth, dead plant parts and food remains. Also vegetables, catfish tablets and of course our special Snail feed from NatureHolic it also eats very gladly.
Although Tylomelania Yellow Antenna originates from the Old Lakes of Sulawesi with their very special water, it copes with quite different water values in the aquarium. Important is a neutral to slightly alkaline pH, rather medium to hard water and an aquarium temperature of 22 to 30 °C.
Our food recommendation: With the Natureholic Snail Feed Power Paste you create a feeding lawn, which is very well accepted by all growth eating snails. Also delicate wild-caught snails like racing sn ails or staghorn snails, which are stressed after transport and do not like conventional food, can be fed up well with it.
Our plant recommendation: Use for planting NatureHolic InVitros. These are free of snails, planarians and other unwanted co-inhabitants. Also free of algae spores, bacteria and fungi.
Expert Tip: We recommend for fish keeping the NatureHolic 3 Phase Liquid. The care set offers the best all-round protection for your animals. It ensures optimal conditions for successful breeding and keeping.
Actively prevent outbreaks: With the invisible Natureholic Snail Barrier you prevent the escape and loss of your snails from the aquarium.
