from over 3,000 reviews "Water values: | soft to hard |
Difficulty: | for beginners |
Propagation: | possible in fresh water |
Origin: | German offspring |
Coloring: | yellow |
Their bright yellow color makes the Yellow Fire a real eye-catcher in the aquarium. Their intense sunny yellow becomes more intense as the animals age. Often the females have a light yellow dorsal stripe. If this is particularly broadly pronounced, one speaks of Yellow Fire Neon. No matter which variety of Yellow Fire shrimp is crawling in the aquarium - their color always forms a very nice contrast to the green of the aquarium plants.
However, the Yellow Fire shrimp is not only beautiful, but also extremely useful. It prefers to graze on algae growth and other biofilms, eats food remains and dead plant parts and thus acts as a health police and clean-up troop in the aquarium. In addition to all this natural food, the animals are also grateful for a special shrimp food , and they also gladly take a suitable protein food, which should be given twice a week. Otherwise they prefer food with mainly vegetable components, but also brown autumn leaves as a permanent food is gladly grazed and finally eaten.
As a peaceful group animal, the Yellow Fire shrimp can be easily socialized with other aquarium inhabitants such as peaceful small fish, dwarf and large crabs, freshwater crabs, mussels and snails . An initial stocking of 10 to 20 Yellow Fire is recommended. If you want to keep them together with other shrimp species or color varieties, you should inform yourself in advance about the requirements for the water values and make sure that they are at least similar. With other species and colors of the genus Neocaridina it can mix.
The Yellow Fire is very easy to breed. The female can carry 20 to 40 bright yellow eggs, from which fully developed young hatch after three to four weeks. A separate breeding tank is not necessary, because the animals do not chase their offspring. If you keep the Yellow Fire shrimp in a community tank, you should definitely offer the baby shrimp hiding places in the form of moss or other fine-feathered plants.
Our food recommendation: The soft Mainfeed Softpads from NatureHolic are designed for daily feeding. They contain all the nutrients shrimp need for shell development, egg formation and growth. During the production process we pay attention to a gentle and environmentally friendly production, in which the vitamins and other valuable ingredients are preserved as much as possible.
Our plant recommendation: Use for the planting NatureHolic InVitros. These are free of snails, planaria and other unwanted co-inhabitants. Also free of algae spores, bacteria and fungi.
Expert Tip: We recommend for fish keeping the NatureHolic 3 Phase Liquid. The care set offers the best all-round protection for your animals. It ensures optimal conditions for successful breeding and keeping.
