Coloring: | yellow |
A completely new variety of Taiwan Bees is the Yellow King Kong shrimp. At first sight it looks very similar to a Yellow Fire, but it has no dorsal stripe, and it is not a Neocaridina, but belongs to the genus Caridina. Its transparent yellow is the body color, and it is interrupted by very little, if any, pigment on the skin. This yellow just glows in the aquarium! Especially on dark substrate and in aquariums with lots of moss the Yellow King Kong shrimp looks best. Also for breeders this color form is highly interesting! The females reach a length of about 2.5 cm, the males remain smaller and somewhat slimmer.
Active Soil is also recommended for the Yellow King Kong shrimp, because it adjusts the water values to fit Taiwan Bees. Furthermore, osmosis water in combination with a hardening salt has proven successful for bee shrimp . Tap water should not be used for an aquarium with Yellow King Kong shrimp, because in most cases it is either too hard or the mineral composition is not suitable for shrimp. Often the animals survive, but the offspring will not grow. The Yellow King Kong shrimp wants soft, rather cool, very oxygen-rich, clean water. A heater is therefore not needed, and especially in the hot months you should rather push the temperatures down. This works very well with an aquarium cooling. Partial water changes of 10 to 30% weekly are recommended
The Yellow King Kong can be socialized very well with other soft water shrimps. Especially bee shrimp or other shadow shrimp can be kept together with them. Bee shrimp of all varieties and Yellow King Kong shrimp interbreed, the offspring offer very interesting patterns and colors. The Yellow King Kong shrimp can of course be kept together with other invertebrates like shrimps and snails. Here you must pay attention to the requirements of the animals, they must fit together! With larger, lively fish, but also with crayfish, predatory snails, freshwater mussels or freshwater crabs you should not necessarily keep the quite sensitive Yellow King Kong shrimp together.
As omnivores, Yellow King Kong shrimp are not picky about their food. A predominantly vegetable diet, which is supplemented twice a week with protein-containing food on animal basis, has proven itself. This works very well, for example, with the protein food from Naturholic or Shrimp King. Brown autumn leaves should always be available as a permanent food.
If the conditions are good, the females of the Yellow King Kong dwarf shrimp lay between 20 and 40 eggs about every eight weeks, which they attach to the swimming legs in their belly pocket. After about four weeks of gestation they release already fully developed young. At the beginning the young of the Yellow King Kong are very sedentary, they stay more or less at the place where they hatched from the egg. Therefore, it is recommended to feed juveniles sparingly and regularly with a dust food that distributes well in the aquarium so that they all get something.
Our food recommendation: NatureHolic's soft mainfeed softpads are designed for daily feeding. They contain all the nutrients shrimp need for shell development, egg formation and growth. During the production we pay attention to a gentle and environmentally friendly production, in which the vitamins and other valuable ingredients are preserved as far as possible.
Our plant recommendation: Use for the planting NatureHolic InVitros. These are free of snails, planaria and other unwanted co-inhabitants. Also free of algae spores, bacteria and fungi.
Expert Tip: We recommend for fish keeping the NatureHolic 3 Phase Liquid. The care set offers the best all-round protection for your animals. It ensures optimal conditions for successful breeding and keeping.
