Description

With its veil shape, the Golden Zebra Dar ling is a great breeding variant of the well-known Danio rerio, which we also carry in the store. The great eponymous zebra stripes have an iridescent effect on the entire body and continue to the tips of the fins. Originally Zebra danios come from Pakistan, India and Bangladesh, but are relatively easy to breed.

Here you can get adult German off spring (DNZ).

In its habitat, the active fish colonize slow flowing waters but also ponds and are mainly found in rice fields. They are very social, which is why you should keep them in a group of 10 or more mates. If they feel well, the up to 6 cm large fish can reach an age of 10 years and are thus long-time family members.

You can distinguish the sexes externally mainly on the basis of their body size, because the females become a little more plump, the males show more colors, especially during courtship. Because your darlings can jump, cover the aquarium well. You can design the tank relatively freely, in places you can place dense plant groups at the edges and in the background, because your zebras are on the move all day and need swimming space.

If you want to breed your zebrafish, we recommend a spawning aquarium where you put the breeding pair and do cool water changes. Feed them well with live food for a few days and remove them after spawning so they don't eat their eggs away themselves. The young hatch after a few days, you can feed them with nauplii but also with a Baby fish food to raise them.

Zebrafish are very friendly, you can keep them fine with other tetras, Danioswith Loricariidae or Corydoras can be kept together. However, due to the veil shape you should keep away from crayfish, perch or labyrinth fish. Dwarf- or Amano shrimps can also be kept together with them, but it can happen that a young one is eaten.

The omnivorous zebra danios Gold Schleier can be easily fed with commercial dry food or flake food. They also like to munch on live and frozen food, you can use Artemia, Daphnia, Tubifex or mosquito larvae.

Our food recommendation: NatureHolic professional main feed is a professional main feed for all aquarium fish. We supply Hauptfeed in the form of soft granules, which, thanks to its grain size of half a millimeter, can be easily absorbed by small to medium-sized fish. The soft consistency resembles the texture of insect larvae in nature and protects the fish mouth from micro-injuries.

Our plant recommendation: Use for planting NatureHolic InVitros. These are free of snails, planarians and other unwanted co-inhabitants. Also free of algae spores, bacteria and fungi.

Expert Tip: We recommend when keeping fish the NatureHolic 3 Phase Liquid. The care set offers the best all-round protection for your animals. It ensures optimal conditions for successful breeding and keeping.

Hallo Lydia, vielen Dank für deine Frage! Zebrabärblinge können mit Zwergfadenfischen zusammen gehalten werden.
