Description

The abalone abalone is a pretty marine snail, also known as Haliotis asinina. Among enthusiasts it is sometimes also called abalone abalone or abalone abalone. Especially for beginners it is very interesting, because it is quite easy to keep and also provides a clean aquarium.

The rather semicircular abalone resembles an auricle and has a pearly shell, which is why they are sometimes called iris shells. On their shell there are round openings along their edge. They originate from the Indo-Pacific, Philippine and Thailand, where they are also used as food. In their habitats, abalone tend to live hidden in shallow water zones, in places hanging upside down under rocks. They feed on algae and nanosized particles.

In the hobby, it is common to introduce dog-eared fish into the aquarium with new stones. Often the animals are nocturnal. They may change their colors.

Expert Tip: We recommend for fish keeping the NatureHolic 3 Phase Liquid. The care set offers the best all-round protection for your animals. It ensures optimal conditions for successful breeding and keeping.
