from over 3,000 reviews "Its pretty appearance has not for nothing earned this great marine dweller the name gold ring Kauri or porcelain snail. The also called Erosaria annulus small tank inhabitant belongs to the shell snails and is assigned to the cowries within the species. Its species name "annulus" which means "ring", it has to owe to the yellow housing ring. It is found almost worldwide in the seas, but preferably in the Indo-Pacific. Since it has a pronounced ravenous appetite for debris, it is a perfect reef dweller to keep the aquarium clean.
Over its semicircular and very smooth shell it pushes its mantle edge, which meets on the back and presents a pretty pattern. In its habitat, it is found in a wide variety of habitats, and is also frequently seen during the day. It is considered to be highly coral compatible, feeding on detrius, carrion, and also growth. Thus it is an ideal health policeman in the coral reef.
Captive breeding has been successful in some places, with the female laying eggs which she incubates. The larvae undergo metamorphosis, which can be a bit more involved. The Goldring Kauri can easily be kept in a group and socialized with other invertebrates and peaceful fish, provided they are not outright snail eaters.
Expert Tip: We recommend for fish keeping the NatureHolic 3 Phase Liquid. The care set offers the best all-round protection for your animals. It ensures optimal conditions for successful breeding and keeping.
