Our Hermetia larvae convince with a healthy yellowish color and a size of up to 2 cm. They are extremely robust and can be kept for several days if stored at low temperatures. Over time and at appropriate temperatures, the larvae darken and begin to pupate. After a few days they hatch into live black soldier flies. By your shipping in nutrient substrate, feeding the larvae is not necessary.
Instructions for use:
- these are live feeding insects - open the package as soon as possible after delivery
- the animals are alternating warm and should be stored between 8°C - 28°C
- at storage temperatures < 10°C the larvae stop moving, they are not dead - when the temperature rises the larvae become active again
Professional tip: soldier fly larvae are an optimal food for pacman frogs and a welcome snack for pond fish
