Description

Siliquifera grandis, also known as the giant leafhopper, is one of the largest species of leafhopper and has a wingspan of over 25 cm. Leafhoppers are generally not good flyers and many species cannot fly, but only flap their wings to support their jumps.

The expected final size of the giant leafhopper is about 12 cm. It is native to tropical Asia, New Guinea and northern Australia and prefers substrate and air temperatures between 20 and 28 °C. The ideal substrate for their terrarium is terrarium sand.

The giant leaf cricket is diurnal and feeds on leaves of blackberries, raspberries, fruit and fish food. It requires 60-80% humidity and should be kept in a terrarium that is adequately ventilated to prevent mold growth.

Overall, the Giant Leafhopper is a fascinating insect with impressive proportions and relatively easy husbandry. It is important to ensure that its temperature, humidity, and nutritional needs are met to ensure that it remains healthy and happy.
